A health checkup can be lifesaving – but it’s also a nerve-wracking experience, especially for serious diseases like breast cancer.
Thanks to your kindness, Hutt St Centre’s Pathways team are making it easier and more comfortable for women at risk of or experiencing homelessness to care for their health.
Six women were warmly welcomed by Breast Screen SA with a hot cup of tea, cakes, and biscuits before their screenings. Pathways Officer, Barbara noticed everyone feeling more relaxed.
When safety and survival are the top priority each night for women facing homelessness, less urgent but important needs like healthcare can take a backseat.
