From humble beginnings in 1954, when the Daughters of Charity served sandwiches and tea to returned war veterans, Hutt St Centre has become a vital service for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness in South Australia.
These photos offer a glimpse into our journey — a testament to the care and resilience of our community.
Today, with 75 staff and 200 volunteers, we provide support to more than 2,200 people each year — helping with wellbeing, mental and physical health, advocacy, education, employment, and housing.
This incredible journey wouldn’t have been possible without you, our generous supporters. Thank you for standing by us and making this work possible.
You’re warmly invited to attend Homefulness: 70 Years of the Hutt St Centre, a special documentary celebrating the incredible journey of compassion, resilience and community since 1954. Enjoy an evening of stories and reflection, with complimentary popcorn and drinks provided.
